I look forward to connecting with you! I have been a yoga teacher for over a decade after receiving my 200 hr Yoga Alliance Registration from Lotus Gardens and my 500 hr Registration from Laughing Lotus. During the pregnancy of my second child, I gained my prenatal certification with Yoga Haven with additional prenatal training with MA Yoga in New York City.
I have had the honor of teaching yoga in studios, corporate settings, schools, women's correctional facilities and private homes. As a member of the teaching staff at Devotion Yoga and Hudson Yoga Project in Hoboken, New Jersey, I teach prenatal and open level yoga, lead workshops and offer prenatal teacher training at the studios. Time and time again, the practice of yoga has inspired me, given me respite from stress and helped strengthen and heal my body. It is my sincere desire to share those benefits with my students and guide them to discover their own practice--a practice that will serve them through pregnancy, birth and beyond!
I serve as the Director of Women's Services and a volunteer prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher with Liberation Prison Yoga, which serves people living at Rikers Island Jail in NYC and in prisons throughout New York State. I am part of the teacher training and mentoring team for Liberation and continue to develop trauma-informed curriculum.
As a long-time La Leche League volunteer, I work with breastfeeding mothers and babies both in Northern New Jersey and at Rikers Island Jail. After years of supporting women as a yoga instructor and community volunteer and recognizing the incredible gift of yoga, mindfulness and unwavering non-judgmental support for women during birth, I became a certified birth doula and a certified birth doula trainer with Birth Arts International under the guidance of Beth Goldberg, CPM and Demetria Clark. It is truly an honor to accompany families on their journey.
My bachelor's degree is in theater from Connecticut College and I hold an MA in Applied Psychology/Drama Therapy from New York University. My husband, Chris, and I live in Weehawken, NJ with our three children.
